Hokus Pokus celebrates two years of creating enchanting concoctions since its grand opening in April 2022. Nestled at the crossroads of Bloomsbury and King’s Cross, Hokus Pokus has captivated both locals and travellers alike with its spellbinding concoctions and immersive ambiance.

Located just down the road from the “British College of Health”, opened in the 19th century by quack Dr. James Morrison, who famously claimed his vegetable pills could cure any ailment, Hokus Pokus is a living tribute to the rich history of mixology. Greg Chudzio brings a lot of expertise and along with his brilliant team, there is great personal attention to people’s mood and personality, as well as their drinking preferences. This is next-level mixology and such an immersive experience.

Alchemy in Action

At the heart of Hokus Pokus is master mixologist Greg ‘Doc’ Chudzio, whose visionary prowess has been instrumental in shaping the magical essence of Hokus Pokus. With techniques ranging from infusions to smoking and even setting things on fire, Doc Chudzio and his team create an extraordinary array of cocktails that defy imagination.

The alchemists here combine numerous processes, including infusions, fat-washing and extraction, with homemade liqueurs, infusions and fruit extract to create extraordinary drinks. Even though these elixirs don’t promise to cure any ailments, they will lift the mood of their patrons.

Signature Elixirs

Signature creations like the Mix Berry Fusion, a mesmerising blend of vanilla-infused Boatyard Vodka and pure fig & mixed berry extract, showcase the bar’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of mixology. There is also the Smokey Sour Mash, which is created from a wagyu-washed Michter’s US*1 Original Sour Mash & a barrel-aged blend of vermouths and a combination of apple, cherry & chicory smoke is then used to elevate the cocktail.

As well as signature creations, the bar reimagines recipes from a bygone era, such as Coffee & Orange Chocolate, as well as a concise list of flawlessly crafted Alcohol-Free Prescriptions.

Heritage and Location

This place is more than just cocktails; it’s an experience unto itself. Designed by British artist and designer Henry Chebaane, the space fuses Victorian elegance with steampunk aesthetics, inviting patrons on a journey through time and space from the moment they step through the door.
